Steeltoe

For town and city public works

Show residents
what their tax dollars do.

Your crews say what got done. Steeltoe turns it into work orders, plow and truck repairs, daily reports against the work program, and a plain-words report your town can post to its website.

How it works

Steeltoe / 01

Four things
that eat the week.

Each one the way it plays out in the film: what was said, what Steeltoe did with it, and the screens it lands on.

01 / Tasks

Calls pile up.

A resident calls in a pothole. Say who, what and when, and Steeltoe writes the work order, assigns it, sets the due date and puts it on the crew's phone.

Pete, highway superintendent

“I need to create a task for Zach Johnson to fill the pothole on Elm Street by Friday.”

02 / Repairs

Trucks go down.

Whoever is in the truck says what's wrong. Steeltoe writes up the repair with the photo attached and puts it on the town garage's board, where the mechanic picks it up.

Dale, in plow 7

“Hey, plow seven's wing won't come down.”

03 / Job tracking

Who knows what got done?

At the end of the day, the foreman talks through what got done. Steeltoe fills in the daily report and counts it against the town's work program, with every job on the map.

Marcus, end of day

“We cleared nine storm drains, fixed ten potholes on Route 9, trimmed ten trees on Maple Street, and painted five crosswalks.”

04 / Public report

Then the public asks.

Ask for today's report. Steeltoe pulls what the crews reported, writes it in plain words with a map and before-and-after photos, and posts it to the town website, so residents see what their tax dollars did today.

Carol, town administrator

“Post today's public works report to the town website.”

Steeltoe AI

  • Pulled the four crews' reports
  • Wrote them up in plain words, with a map and photos
  • Posted to the town website
